FortiOS Administrator

Course Description

The FortiOS 7.6 Administrator course teaches network and IT professionals responsible for managing firewalls how to configure, manage, and monitor FortiGate devices using FortiOS. Participants will learn to implement system and network settings, firewall policies, and routing, configure authentication and security features such as antivirus, web filtering, intrusion prevention, and application control, as well as deploy IPsec VPNs, SD-WAN, and high availability, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting, and work with FortiGate deployments in cloud environments and FortiSASE.

  • IT professionals responsible for managing FortiGate firewalls

Prerequisites 

Participants should have:

  • Basic familiarity with computer architecture and Von Neumann architecture.

  • Understanding of computer networking, OSI Model, and IP routing

  • Understanding of domain controller operation.

  • Understanding of SSL/TLS handshaking

  • Understanding of Protocol and port management

  • Basic familiarity with UNIX/Linux command-line operations

  • Understand the key features and architecture of FortiOS and FortiGate

  • Configure system and network settings, including interfaces and routing

  • Implement firewall policies and NAT to control network traffic

  • Configure user authentication, including Fortinet Single Sign-On (FSSO)

  • Deploy and configure security profiles such as antivirus, web filtering, intrusion prevention, and application control

  • Configure and manage IPsec VPNs for secure connectivity

  • Implement and monitor SD-WAN for traffic optimization

  • Configure high availability for network resilience

  • Perform logging, monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting

  • Deploy and manage FortiGate devices in cloud environments and integrate with FortiSASE
