Infrastructure Resilience Workshop

Course Description

This technical workshop introduces participants to the principles of High Availability (HA) and Fault Tolerance (FT) in edge environments. It focuses on both solutions and their key differences and applications but also aids in understanding how Fortinet and Penguin Solutions can integrate to deliver continuous uptime, operational resilience, and secure edge computing for industrial and critical infrastructure environments.

Led by experienced instructors, this hands-on session bridges IT and OT disciplines to help engineers design, deploy, and maintain self-healing systems that ensure zero downtime operations.

Participants will explore both theoretical and practical components, from HA configuration and cluster synchronisation in Fortinet FortiGate to automated failover and self-healing infrastructure using Penguin Solutions Stratus platforms.

Who Should Attend

The Infrastructure Resilience workshop is designed for the following audiences:

  • Systems engineers, solution architects, and pre-sales professionals supporting edge or OT environments
  • Technical staff responsible for assisting end customers in maintaining high availability infrastructure or critical operational systems
  • Channel partners seeking to understand how Fortinet and Penguin Solutions deliver joint value in uptime and resilience

Agenda

  • Introduction to Edge Resilience - Understand downtime risks, operational tolerance, and the business impact of resilience gaps.
  • High Availability with Fortinet - Explore FortiGate HA concepts, synchronisation methods, failover modes, and best practices for seamless service continuity.
  • Fault Tolerance with Penguin Solutions - Examine how Stratus ztC Edge and Endurance platforms provide predictive, automated fault tolerance and self-healing capabilities.
  • Integration in Practice - See how Fortinet HA and Penguin FT complement each other in delivering resilient IT/OT convergence at the edge.
  • Hands-On Labs
    • Configure and test FortiGate HA clusters
    • See a simulate failover demo and fault events on Stratus platforms
    • Validate uptime, synchronisation, and zero interruption performance

Prerequisites

This course is designed to assist individuals who are both seasoned and new to the OT industry, however we recommend participants have at least:

  • A basic understanding of networking, firewalls, and virtualisation concepts
  • A basic understanding of high availability concepts
  • Familiarity with Fortinet products or edge computing architectures (recommended)

Participants must bring with them:

  • A laptop to use for the entire session with an up-to-date HTML 5 compatible browser.

If this class is being performed virtually or you are participating virtually on a hybrid-based workshop, please ensure you have:
